I always get a little nervous before each session, even though I have photographed 100+ sessions. It is so important to me to capture your parenthood journey in all of its beauty. I probably put even more pressure on myself for rainbow baby maternity sessions. I remember how important my maternity images were to me when I was pregnant with Oliver after we lost Leo. Mostly because I didn't get to have those images while I was pregnant with Leo (don't forget to visit Leo's Corner to see how I give back to families who have lost).
So, I was excited and a little nervous for Elizabeth and Kevin's session because I wanted it to be amazing. They lost their sweet Thomas at 19 weeks and wanted to capture moments of being pregnant with his little sister. It was the middle of June...which means it was hot! We also had to change location at the last minute due to the fires in the East Valley. But you guys...I am pretty sure Thomas and Leo were watching over to give us some amazing light! I am so obsessed with the images from this session and I can tell you that as I photographed these parents, I could see and feel their love for each other, for their three babies (doggie Bella, sweet Thomas, and his little sister), along with the joy and laughter they share on their parenthood journey.
Also, I definitely got some ant bites that hurt soooo bad during the session, but it was totally worth it! Should that be my new slogan? "I will totally get bitten by ants to capture your parenthood journey!" Maybe I should leave the humor to my hubs!
